The Venezuelan Observatory of Political Ecology aims to highlight and analyze the inequalities and socio-ecological impacts generated by the transformation and intervention of nature, ecosystems, and territories, understanding their relationship with the dominant economic model; while also seeking to record, systematize, and disseminate the different knowledge and experiences produced around socio-environmental struggles in the country, the defense of natural commons and territories, as well as the promotion of ways of life consistent with the care of nature, life, and different forms of community.

The organization seeks to raise awareness of various extractive and development projects in the country, detailing their characteristics, promoting agents, and socio-environmental impacts, and proposing alternatives and strategies for transforming the extractivist model in all its variants.
